From your experience has the Muslim extremists toward Westerners vanished or what? I believe there was some danger in the Phillipines, Malaysia and Indonesia—nothing that I have seen in other Asian countries…..I am basically inquiring about safety in travel…. I love Thailand as I have never felt in danger even in Bangkok—I do prefer Pattaya as it is a smaller city and on the ocean… Safety in travel is so important

Im going to start slow traveling in February and was wondering if you could do a video on your yearly costs for slow travelling. Im thinking about the additional expenses that would not be included in your destination budgets. Things like transportation (planes, buses, trainsβ¦) visas, medical, dentalβ¦β¦. I have a good idea of what my monthly costs will be for my first 12 destinations for the year but Iβm trying to come up with a realistic total budget (for the 2 of us ) for the year. Thank you π

How to feel purpose in life when retired is a whole other topic. Dan and Quing Hui are full time working. They are not retired, so slow travel is a lifestyle and source of content, for their jobs.
Retirement is by definition not working, or not working much. Slow travel can be a part of that, and your purpose can be to see the world, experience cultures, collect stuff, learn, grow. Not bad purposes!.
Working people can slow travel if they work remotely, or as a break from working, a sabbatical, a practice retirement, like in The 4 Hour Workweek.

Quiang, really always enjoy your viewpoints and observations. Having purpose and maintaining our individuality as a couple from different cultures, so interesting. I have a possible suggested area of Luzon that you may want to check out. Tagaytay, (cooler mountainous area like Baguio) and Batangas beaches. Both of these are only 3-4 hours south of Manila. I have a few days between Baguio and Puerto Galera stays between June 28 and July 1 and may scope them out! Could meet you both there or you could kick Dan up there for a few days, lol. Any how, they both were a surprise in my research:0- ;). Have you been to either?
