Plitvice Lakes is known for crowds. Colmar and Hallstatt are very well-known tourist destinations. When I visited Cesky Krumlov several years ago, there was a fair number of tourists. And Ronda frequently shows up on the list of places to visit in Andalusia. .

Ok – now I know this is some kind of a joke. Plitvice Lakes has coach bus queues back to the coast in summer. Get there in winter before the park opens you might beat the crowds. But unless this was posted 20 years ago the title 'you need to visit before they become too popular' is laughable
Colmar isn't a hidden gem. It is pretty overcrowded.
